Thank you for your interest in learning to jump at Skydive Alabama. We feel that our skydiving center is one of the best, combining an excellent staff, state of the art equipment, and great facilities. At Skydive Alabama, we believe that the future of skydiving is in you: the future skydiver. Come and be a part of our great sport!

Skydive Alabama is a group member of the United States Parachute Association (USPA), which means that we agree, in the interests of safety and good communications, to abide by the safety standards they set. This also means that all of our instructional staff is certified by the USPA.

Skydive Alabama has top notch facilities, including a climate-controlled packing area, restaurant, and showers.

For most of the year, jumping begins at 8:00 a.m. and continues until sunset on Saturdays and Sundays, weather permitting. We can train students anytime, just give us as much advance notice as possible to make sure we have plenty of staff on hand.

NOTE: Other drop zones charge extra fees if you pay by credit card.  There are NO EXTRA FEES for the use of a Credit Card at Skydive Alabama.

Tandem Freefall

Tandem Skydive

Tandem Skydive from 13,500 feet.
After only a half hour briefing you and your instructor will take to the skies. You will climb in the airplane to 13,500 feet and freefall for 1 minute. Since you are in front of the instructor with your own altimeter and ripcord, you will have the sensation of being on your own. After you pull the ripcord the instructor offers guidance as you fly the parachute together. A tandem jump is a great way to "get your knees in the breeze", to experience the thrill of skydiving while under close supervision of an experienced instructor. Age and Weight Limitations

At Skydive Alabama, you must be at least 18 years old to jump (regardless of parental consent) and weigh no more than 245 pounds.

NOTE: Skydive Alabama uses the latest most up to date skydiving equipment an techniques.  The equipment we use to train our students, is the same equipment used by many of the skydiving facilities throughout the country and offers new jumpers the latest in safety and comfort. Our student equipment is strictly maintained beyond the manufactures standards, but however it has its limitation. BE CAREFUL when a drop zone states they have a higher allowable weight limitation, these limitation are set forth by the manufacturer not the training facility, and for your safety we abide by them.

AFF Skydive

Accelerated Freefall

Accelerated Freefall (AFF) from 13,500 feet. A 6 to 8 hour ground school prepares you for your first AFF jump. You will jump from 13,500 feet accompanied by two jumpmasters and wearing your own

parachute system. After more than 1 minute of freefall you pull your ripcord and fly your parachute with help for your landing from an instructor on the radio. This program involves 7 levels of instruction and is the quickest way to becoming a licensed skydiver. The price for the first AFF jump, including the 6 - 8 hour ground instruction and the skydive, is $245, or $234 with a group of four or more.

Remember it with video!

A great way to remember your first jump experience is to purchase a live freefall video of your skydive. It is available with any of these first jump options for $70.  Each video is approximately 10 minutes long, expertly edited and accompanied by music. Not only is video fun to watch, it's also a great training tool for students who are learning to skydive.You can purchase digital still pictures as well for $70 or a package of a dvd video and digital still pictures for only $80.

Continuing Education

Skydive Alabama unlike any drop zones in this area offers its students and students only discounted professional continuing education training.  You will jump with an experienced AFF instructor who will personally train you in advanced skydiving techniques and provide you with immediate feedback throughout your skydive with a pre and post dive critique.

Quick Price Reference Table

We accept Visa and MasterCard. The prices quoted above include everything needed on the jumps: equipment, ride in the aircraft, instruction costs, etc. You will need to wear athletic shoes and comfortable clothes suited for a day outdoors. You also need to be 18 years or older, in good health and under 240 pounds. First jump AFF classes start at 8:00 a.m. Please be on time and plan on spending the day. Tandem and all subsequent jumps can be conveniently scheduled to fit in with your plans and rarely take more than 3 to 4 hours out of your day. Weekend schedules often fill up in advance, so we recommend calling in your reservations with your $50 deposit (good towards your jump) as soon as your plans are firm.
